Marc Jacobs F/W 2012

I've never been one to die over Marc Jacobs, but tonight I got the fantasy! My jaw actually dropped when I saw the first look. Models strutted down an "ice" themed runway wearing oversized mink hats in every color and pattern. The oversized hats were shown with tailored jackets and sparkly dresses as well as cropped pants. The metallic pink shoes really stood out against the white runway and complimented every outfit. From my seat I spotted Jared Leto, Terry Richardson, Anna Dello Russo, and Nina Garcia. The show was by far the largest show I've ever seen and was literally the climax of NYFW.

Diane von Furstenberg F/W 2012

Diane von Furstenberg's show was one of the biggest and most influential shows of NYFW. Guests included Oscar de la Renta, Anderson Cooper, Rachel Zoe, Anna Wintour, Lynn Yaeger, Michelle Harper and Mickey Boardman, just to name a few. The tent was packed with fashionable spectators for a show titled  “A rendez-vous is a meeting with suspense and expectation…” Silky blouses and neon accents paired with mixed-matched leather gloves helped to build the 48-look collection. There were perfectly tailored pants, great fall coats, and some cocktail dresses in signature prints. When Diane came out after the final walk through, the crowd gave the living legend a huge applause.

Prabal Gurung F/W 2012

Prabal Gurung was everything! I don’t know how else to put it. I’ve never been so moved by a show. The collection, titled Uncursed, started with models drenched in black  sporting Phillip Treacy hats. Followed by navy dresses with gold accents, iridescent blazers, and culminated by a white feather gown, the progression of colors was seamless. My favorite piece was a white cocktail dress with translucent blue vinyl peeking out from its feathers. The jewelry was designed by Fenton/Fallon and the white and patent leather belts were by Zana Bayne. ~Jarrett Edward
