Zetus Leepetus! The Evolution of Jeremy Scott

Jeremy Scott is one of our favorite designers. Even Karl Lagerfeld himself said that he would be the only one that could take over Chanel. Here's a look at the evolution of his work. Notice the similarities of graphic prints shown in his polka dots, Flintstone patterns and money signs. Jeremy Scott is best known for his pop culture references and his over-the-top aesthetic.

Alexander Wang has gone back to his roots with this collection; he mixes knits with leather, sheer with velvet, satin with fur. Unlike his past few collections which really threw all the traditional black-on-black Wang fans for a loop, this season showed us he is more than capable of making clothing not only for more accessible buyers but also a more luxurious audience. There is a very comfy and simple aesthetic going on here. Wang uses jersey and silk to create a sort of sweatshirt dress-- something he has certainly done before, but never at this caliber. The way each fabric flows into the next is stunning, and the accessories are to die for. Everything is so non-sensical yet makes so much sense in its presentation... fur clad sunglasses? Check. Alexander Wang leaves us with a sense of playful chic that would make most designers this fashion week shake in their boots... or heels.

Prabal Gurung Fall 2011 RTW

Prabal Gurung does it again with his newest collection. Just two years after showing his first solo collection, Gurung has really made a name for himself in the fashion industry catering to the likes of Zoe Saldana and Demi Moore. His previous Spring collection gained attention by scattering red carpets at numerous events. Gurung's newest collection focuses on bright colors and flowing dresses for winter. He choose to challenge himself this season asking, "Can I do undone?" He did more than achieve his goal by pairing full-skirted party dresses with over the top dipdyed fur coats and shawls. Gurung managed to capture the disintegration he was yearning for this season. While still staying true to his aesthetic of the off-the-shoulder look, he choose to intermix ultra-flattering trousers. Only time can tell if this collection we prove as successful as his last.
