James St. Who?

There's nothing worse than being let down by someone who claims to be"the original" at what you do. This was the case last night at Club Party Monster at Webster Hall. The flyer boasted nightlife legends such as Superstar Dj Keoki and host James St. James but as the night went on, neither were to be found. In fact no club kids were to be found besides ourselves. Eventually as the clocked ticked away Astro Erle arrived, being the only original club kid, as well as the only other person dressed up. As word got out that James St. James would not be arriving we were asked to dance on stage to keep the crowd entertained. We then had to deal with brutish dimwitted security (pictured below) who would refuse us access to the stage, forcefully pushing us back, giving us the middle finger, and then refusing to give us his name (for fear of loosing his job). "Superstar"  DJ Keoki finally took to the stage at 3:15am instead of midnight as promised, after the majority of the crowd had already left. We were not treated with respect by any worker, including the incompetent girls at the front desk(pictured below) who would not give us the proper wrist bands to sit at our table in the VIP area, rude.
Overall we had fun because we were surrounded by our gracious friends, but Webster Hall is by far one of the most disrespectful and abusive venues in all of NYC. We DO NOT recommend ever going there unless you plan on attending TRASH! in the studio where the people are genuine and there to have a good time.

Amanda Lepore's Penthouse

Amanda Lepore
Last Tuesday was the grand opening of Amanda Lepore's Penthouse. All of New York nightlife was out in full force for Amanda's new weekly party at the Gansevoort Hotel. Legendary performer Joey Arias took to the stage around 1 am to perform an impromptu song specifically for the event. The multi-room venue was filled with performances and party goers dancing on platforms in over the top outfits.  The party is hosted by Amanda Lepore, Kenny Kenny, and Joey Israel. Due to some "difficulties" the rooftop was not open for guests as promised. Kenny Kenny abruptly left the party due to these "difficulties." All in all the drama was put to the side and the party was a blast in classic Amanda Lepore fashion.

It's Friday, Friday!

No Friday night in the city is complete without a visit to Top8 or the Box. Top8 is a bi-monthly party underneath Lucky Chengs hosted by Elle Rex, Aaron Kolfage, Amy Cakes, and Avery Noize. This one is not to be missed. Evoking the feel of The Misshapes this party is filled with fashion and fun. The Box is another Friday party that is definitely worth the visit. Hosted by Kayvon Zand and Collective, The Box boasts insane performances that can be seen no where else and not to mention almost everyone in the front of the club is working a 'look.' We even have to sneak pictures because photography isn't allowed because the performances are so crazy. As to quote Rebecca Black, "gotta get down on Friday!"

We headed to the Soho to shop around and stumbled upon the Helmut Lang/Theory sample sale.
