Jet Boy Records Launch Party

Last night we attended the Jet Boy Records Lauch Party at The Box. Our classmate, friend, and fellow blogger Ky DiGregorio of Sound System NYC recently launched her own record label with her friend Rebecca Kiembock. I'll never forget the first time I met Ky. I walked into my room, and there she was, standing with my roommate with her pink hair and leopard fur coat. Ky's energy is like nobody else's.  The label took over The Box and threw a party in true rock 'n roll style. Love Bullet performed and embodied the energy that Jet Boy Records is all about.

Shalom! Bonjour! Hola!

This past month I decided to take a hiatus from nightlife and do some mental and physical exploring. I started my adventure in the motherland, Israel. Starting at the north, I traveled with a group of young adults and we worked our way down to Tel Aviv over 10 days, during which we explored the mystical city of Tzvat, climbed Masada, slept in a Bedouin tent, rode camels, and drank countless bottles of wine. Despite what most think, Israel is actually a very safe and progressive country, with interesting fashion, and a thriving nightlife (Arrogant door girls included). I then spent the next 5 days of my trip with my newly acquainted friend Joey at our friend Gabriella's house, who happens to live on the most prestigious block in Tel Aviv and is also serving her final month in the Israeli Defense Force (yay!). These days were ALL about the beach, bathing in the perfect weather, exploring the club scene, and planning the rest of our trip.

Next stop was PARIS! Joey and I only spent about five days in paris, most of which were spent curing hangovers with sandwiches and baguettes from the bakery on the corner and laying in our hotel room for a few hours. But once out of bed we were able to be real tourists and explore the city's beautiful architecture, people, food, and shoes. A little shopping and some hazy nights on top of the Eiffel Tower later, we met up with our friend Jake (DJ Goldrush) to move on to Spain.

When we arrived in Barcelona we checked into the worst hostel that turned out to be the most fun as we partied with a group of boys from hungary, girls from norway, and a spunky girl from LA. Our days were filled with the paella, tapas, the beach, 5 euro pasta, and harem pants, while our nights were filled with beach parties and the sounds of Avicii and Dirty South. But aside from the partying this trip was more about getting away from crazy NYC, finding inspiration, and some beautiful clothes, all of which were great but I'm so happy to be home so watch out NYC because I'm baaaaaaacckkk!

Some pixxx from my trip below.

Clownin' Around

Birthday boy, Matthew Herra C

Below is a stunning review of last night's festivities by the lovely Kevin Novinski. Enjoy!

If there was anywhere to be this passed Tuesday night it was definitely Markko Donto’s WOLF Party thrown weekly at Le Souk on LaGuardia Place, which is normally a mostly quiet street between Bleecker and Houston. I had stopped off at Amanda Lepore’s Penthouse Party earlier in the hopes of showing a visiting friend, Alex Rupp, what NYC nightlife was all about. Disappointment filled me as I looked around to see the room half empty. (It’s midnight already. Where the Hell is everybody?)
Screw it! I decided to head over to Le Souk to check out the scene. What I found was an entirely packed house mixed with various personalities: New Club Kids, Punks, Goths, Geeks, Rock N’ Rollers, Ravers… the list goes on and on. I was greeted by up and coming nightlife personalities and guest hosts, Zac Weiss and Jarrett Edward (I wish other nightlife hosts took a few pointers from these two as they certainly know how to make a guest feel welcome). Tonight was a late celebration for the ultra-fabulous and well painted Matthew Herra C who has become quite the fixture on the scene.
Making my rounds I spoke with Demanda Dahling and Chip Cirrhosis who always know how to look as fashionably fierce as possible. Our resident DJ Monikkr and guest DJ Rekles kept the entire crowd going all evening and well into the early morning hours. It truly amazed me how well everyone got along despite coming from different areas and backgrounds.
Attendees were treated to three performances MCed by none other than Liquid Blonde front man Tyler Stone. First up was Krystal Something-Something who, along with four cohorts, performed a dance number that culminated with all of them circling and gyrating on the dance floor. Next up was the always sexy and bitchin’ Gerry Visco singing two original songs entitled “How to Be a Top” and “The Gerry Party” as she stripped off numerous layers of clothing each becoming more revealing than the last. She surprised me even when she decided to grab me from the audience and basically mount me in front of everyone all the while asking me if I was a “top or bottom.” Thanks, Gerry. To round out the acts came Kaenesha with two great big balls of fire hanging from chains as she danced around to Depeche Mode’s “Personal Jesus.” (Have I died and gone to Club Heaven?)
What started off as a quiet Tuesday night turned into pure unadulterated entertainment and mayhem closing out at four in the morning. I knew Tuesdays were the new Friday night out and this party proved that notion correct. See You Next Tuesday!
